Projectile motion problem- answer given but don't understand explanation!?

yes your just supposed to assume it is 45 its a rule of thumb for projectile motion because if your lower than that it doesn't go farther and if your higher than that it doesn't go also doesn't go farther. 45 gives you the most distance.
